Colonial America

Welcome to the Colonial America!

Colonial America Banner

AMERICA. To some, the British American Colonies represent a new beginning. Whether that be a businessman looking to expand, an indentured servant looking for a new life, a first generation farmer whose cultivation of this fertile land feeds their family, or ambitions leaders eager to separate from Great Britain by experimenting with self-government. But to others, America represents death, destruction, limitations, and thievery. Millions of Native Americans who once populated the continent have died from European diseases. Countless Africans have been forcibly relocated to a continent where injustices, fear, and torture consume each day.

The fictional stories told through Colonial America chronicle the histories of common people living in 1770's British North America. Focusing on Massachusetts, where the seeds of rebellion have been planted, the players of Colonial America tell the story of America's founding through their characters eyes. Historical events are our foundation, however, some parts of history were never recorded - that's where our group comes in. We're creatively filling in the gaps of the history books.

As characters develop stories will progress, Colonial America will write history through the fictional lives of our characters. Are you ready to go back in time?

Hello Everyone!

It's great to see that we have four characters on Colonial America's website! I love how I'm transported back to the 1770's when I read your posts! It's great.

Please remember that if you have a character on Colonial America, it's imperative that you have your character on our Nova site for posting, and on the BFMS. If you need assistant with the BFMS, please reach out.

I've added a new manifest to the Nova site: Colonial Media. I've created two news papers to help us throughout this episode. The first is the Boston Telegram, the pro-patriot newspaper and the other is the Boston Chronicle, that covers events form the Loyalist perspective. I've created an NPC character to contribute to the paper, all members are welcome to do the same! I will be using either of these papers to send out documents on Wednesday/Saturday.

I've also put together a resource to help us with our game's progression. You can access it here:
For this episode, each week is a different month with a focus. As an example, January's is fairly basic, focusing on weather, but we'll have two documents published to add to the fun.

Lastly, I am seeking an Assistant Game Manager to help with the behind the scenes logistics of Colonial America. This person would be a point person for episode & character development, document creation, etc. If you're interested, please send me an email at and/or reach out to me on Discord!

Thank you for making this game awesome!

P.S. I've added a link to our Discord Server to the main menu!

» Bio form Updates & Other News

Posted on Sat Jun 20th, 2020 @ 3:01am by Patriot Nathaniel Warren in General News

Hi all!

I hope you're doing well! I've updated the Bio form on Nova as follows:
-Colony: This reflects the colony you currently reside in. Example: if you were born in New Hampshire, but live in Massachusetts, your colony would be Massachusetts.
-BFMS Username: This is for accounting purposes, once you have your character on the BFMS, I can link you to our manifest so that it's accurate. If you haven't loaded your character onto the BFMS, please do so ASAP :)
-Discord Username: If you're apart of our Discord Community, be sure to put your user on Nova. It'll be easier for us to connect the character to the person on Discord!

In other news, as we continue to move forward with Colonial America, I will be posting weekly in-character documents to help us along. I will be putting together a calendar to help guide us through each mission (should be done this weekend too). I plan on getting my first post up for Nathaniel Warren this weekend. Feel free to put up your own introductory post as well! We can always use the Discord Chat to plan out encounters between our characters!

Lastly, I'm looking for an Assistant Game Manager to help with the operations/logistics of the Game. If you're interested, please contact me by next Friday 6/26.

If you need anything, feel free to contact me!

Hi all!

I've put up our first mission for your to begin posting! This first mission is designed for character development. Since we're beginning during Winter, consider using the season as your guide. Consider the following:
-Can your character work during this time?
-What are their passions?
-Who does your character spend their time with?

Players are invited to use this time to make connections with each other or to develop their individual characters.

Using a Nova site gives us an interesting opportunity for Colonial America. The expectation is that "Mission Posts" will be more traditional posts/join posts and that the Personal Logs will be used for Journal entries or letters in relation to your mission posts. I'll be updating the Wiki to include guidance for these activities.

I'm excited to see where we can take Colonial America! If you're interested in join us, please send in an application! We'd love to have you!

Outside an uncomfortable mixture of rain and snow falling. It wasn't falling hard enough, and it wasn't quite cold enough to be miserable, but Jeddidah was glad he was inside. His chores were done, he was sitting in the taproom, with a fresh pint, just like he was a regular…

An Unnecessary Violent Attack
By Pearson

On the evening of January 3rd, 1773, a group of young Bostonians spent their evenings like most children do, sledding down the streets of Boston. But when young Thomas Feit's sled lost control and slammed into the fence of Zephaniah Barnard, Mister Barnard resorted…

The building that the Boston Telegram called home was small, just big enough for a few workers to move around the printing press. Upstairs, three rooms were set aside as two writing workshops and one as a library. Luckily for them, their benefactor (who remained anonymous) left them to…

Mission: Episode #1 - A New Year

Dark, ominous clouds hung low on the horizon. Sleet covered the cobblestones in the streets of Boston.  In the course of the past twenty-four hours, it had rained, sleeted, and snowed.  At that time, just before twilight, it had stopped.  But the threat of more moisture falling, most likely snow,…
